Ghostface Killah Expands His Coffee Business

Ghostface Killah’s coffee ventures are expanding.

The Wu-Tang Clan rapper has gone from exclusively selling artisanal ground coffee online to opening Killah Koffee Shop in West Brighton, SILive reports.

The Big Day In NYC

Ghostface and co-owners Ross Filler and Shawn Wigs had their grand opening for the flagship store. The three men were celebrated by the NYC community, as well as its elected officials Mayor Eric Adams and Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island/South Brooklyn), according to the outlet.

While the Killah Koffee Shop isn’t yet officially open to the public, inquiring customers are able to purchase the company’s four flavored beans including vanilla, supreme dark roast, marvelous medium roast, and marble cake online.

Ghostface Gets His Flowers

Making the opening even more of a celebratory day, Adams presented Ghostface with a Proclamation for his legendary imprint in not just music, but also his community — marking May 9 as Ghostface Killah Day.

“There’s so many people coming out here seeing a performer, a young person who grew up here who lived in public housing and went to public school, and now is able to have a business out here; just coming back to the community. That’s what it’s all about. So we just want to say, ‘thank you.’ ‘Thank you for reinvesting,’” the mayor said, according to the outlet.

More hometown love was given as the rap legend received a citation from City Councilwoman Kamillah Hanks’ (D-North Shore) office, as well as Staten Island Ferryhawks gear and “the naming of Shaolin Alley at the ballpark in honor of Wu-Tang Clan” from Gary Perone, executive vice president and general manager of Staten Island Entertainment.

Wu-Tang Clan’s On The Move

Prior to Ghostface’s big day, fellow Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon snagged a deal in the spirits industry.

As previously reported by AfroTech, his luxury sparkling red wine Licataa began to be distributed through Legacy Wines & Spirits, a Black-owned distribution company based in Kentucky, in November 2021.
